Background
Participants and observers pick up valuable skills while playing Catch The Tail - Melrose Primary School, Vic
It’s the practical, hands on nature of The Game Factory program that in large part contributes to its success.
Our games take little time to set up and the equipment used is readily available in schools. Teachers are kept well informed about the developmental possibilities of the games by the simple to use resources.
The teacher acquires a repertoire of strategies and insights as their experience with the games grows, and an effective and powerful way of talking to children develops under the guidance of the resources.
Games can be used to target issues relevant to a particular class or individual. Our games allow children to become aware of their strengths and weaknesses while giving them the opportunity to work on both.
The skills of teamwork and cooperation are a feature of our games.
The simple but challenging structure of the games means almost anyone can join in. For children the fun lies in the doing and the lessons learned come from direct involvement and experience.
Ours is not a pencil and paper program of questions and black line masters. It’s an exploration and development of essential life skills through energetic physical participation and challenge.
